RSS Feed

Hi,

Thanks for this great site. I really needed a serious news source in Norway and this site certainly nails it.

There was one problem, though. Since I follow all the news using an RSS Reader (namely, Google Reader) if a site does not have an RSS feed, it practically does not exist. So it was a burden for me not being able to follow Views and News from Norway via RSS. While I was waiting for my forum account to be approved, Nina let me know that they are planning some improvements to be realized around New Year. I did not want to wait that much and also thought having an RSS feed for the site may be useful for others.

To cut a long story short, I created my own RSS feed for Views and News from Norway. Hopefully it will be useful for at least some of you. ;)

Views and News from Norway Latest Stories RSS Feed

Notes
  • This RSS feed brings the title, link and summary of a story.
  • It works for 90% of the stories. Since the HTML structure of the stories are not 100% standard the remaining 10% of the items will only bring title and link.

Please let me know of any issues you face as a comment under this post.

Cheers :)

It is a technology that makes following the news and blogs very easy. You first need to have a feed reader (or RSS reader) to collect your subscriptions (e.g., Google Reader). Then the reader will check each and every subscription you have to bring the latest content to you. That makes life pretty easy if you are following news from different sources etc. Wikipedia has a more detailed and formal explaination: RSS.

Thanks for this! I have been using it with Firefox's Live Bookmark reader, although in the past few days it has been displaying all stories as "untitled"...anyone else have this problem?

Hi all,
You will be pleased to know that the new and improved website is now live, and it includes a shiny new RSS feed.
You can find the feed here: http://www.newsinenglish.no/feed/rss/

Hope that helps.
